Caterpillars on Stage

Tonight was the Children's Program at my Mum's church. The Caterpillars have been going there on Wednesday nights, so this was their big Christmas program.

They started with asking for all the grandparents to stand up. I thought it was a bit funny that neither Cookie nor Doc could stand, because they were both to busy working with the kids! (Mum was in charge of drama and Doc was doing lights/sounds/media screens.)

Before the program began, one of the Middle School girls sang a song - and six elementary school kids had learned how to sign the song. B10 was one of the kids chosen and if you look carefully, CW is Joseph during the song.

CW and his friend, Seasons, were a perfect Mary and Joseph. They sat so still and held the baby Jesus very carefully. I admit, I got tears in my eyes during this song.

Then, the little kid choirs sang (with the required nose-picking, crying, and dress-lifting), before they brought the elementary school kids back up to the stage.

I have one, slightly fuzzy, video, but that's what happens when you use a camera to take a video!

After the program, CW had been promised the opportunity to help Cookie make chocolate covered strawberries and bananas.

He had such a great time helping her shop and then making the fruit. Then he politely asked each of us what we would like and served us dessert in pretty little baskets.

Overall, it was a wonderful family evening, celebrating Christ's birth.

Sorry to have missed the actual program but we enjoyed watching them practice this past Wednesday.
