So, most readers of this blog know that my Caterpillars are homeschooled. B10 actually went to a public school for Kindergarten and CW went to a private school for Kindergarten - so they've sort of had the "school" experience.
Queen invited us to go with her this afternoon to eat lunch at the elementary school with Prince and Princess - and the Caterpillars JUMPED at the chance to see their friends.
On the way, we let them know that they could either have Chic-fil-a or go through the lunch line at the school. Very quickly, B10 decided he wanted a kids' meal.
CW, on the other hand, was absolutely enthralled by the idea of going through a lunch line. With a tray! And chocolate milk! And paying with money! All by HIMSELF! It was hilarious.
B10 thought he was crazy, as he has apparently had enough public school lunches to last his entire life.
We had a great time, eating and visiting. The kids even got ice cream (thank you, Queen!) after they ate their lunches. It's certainly nice to be able to have these experiences, even when they aren't exactly on the same path as other kids.

School lunch = yuck, but I guess everyone needs to experience it for themselves! That is really neat that they can go to school and eat with them...they can enjoy the fun part of school :)
I agree with BooSheep! That IS really neat! (And I'm pretty sure I would have opted for Chic-Fil-A, too! haha)
