It Started Out Wrong...But Did Get Better!

It's always hard to navigate in the dark in a new place (like a hotel room), so all I knew was that it REALLY hurt when I stubbed my toe trying to get GO out of the playpen in the middle of the night.

Morning came, and as I was laying in bed, with my toe under the blankets, I thought - OW, my toe still hurts a lot.

Then I pulled back the covers and saw this:

It was SO HARD to put a shoe on...really?  Did this have to happen the day I was about to walk around ALL DAY LONG?  And it wasn't even an end toe.

Tee hee hee, CW and B10 thought it was cool at least.

Guess who came to my house today!

The septic tank people!

I have no photos, but you should be thankful for that. Ironically, the Caterpillars and I watched a Dirty Jobs earlier this morning, where Mike Rowe went into the sewage waste facility.

They were enthralled by the real-live Dirty Jobs going on in our backyard.

Because where does my septic tank live? Why - right outside my huge kitchen picture window, of course! Where the Caterpillars could sit and watch the workers dig into my backyard (killing at least 2 azalea bushes), then watch them lift the lid on the septic tank, to see the mass of overflowing...goo...and they were super-enthralled when the huge tube went into the mass of goo and started sucking everything out of the tank.

Then the bad news started, such as - "oh, by the way, when the "brilliant" former homeowners added that quaint sunroom on the back of the house, yes, they parked a cement truck on top of the septic tank and cracked at least 2 of the 4 lids (at a cost of $450 each to replace) - and, ma'am, your feed line is broken along with your distribution box."

It was touch-and-go for a while, when the cost looked like it was going to be over $6,000. Luckily, by the end of the two hours, we were down to only about $1,600 in damages - and a promise that they could be out next Wednesday to fix everything at once.

So guess what Hubby and I are giving each other for Christmas?

Toilets that flush. Who says plumbing can't be romantic?

(If anyone in my area is looking for an excellent, honest septic tank guy - let me know. The owner of the small company was the one who came out to the house and he was incredible. Even Doc was impressed! And Doc is very hard to impress...)

My Worst Nightmare

As a parent, have you ever had one of those moments where your children do something - and as you look at the aftermath, you really can't understand how they are still alive?

When we first bought our home, almost two years ago, CW had just turned five. B10 came running into the bedroom where Mum and I were working, screaming that CW was hurt. He had put his head through the plate-glass window, and had nary a scratch on him - but the shard of thick glass (no less than 9 inches long) that by all accounts should have gone straight through his neck hung sideways in the window frame.

I still, to this day, cannot understand how it did not impale him.

Last night, I felt that same fear again.

CW and B10 have a bunk bed set. It's a solid set, they've had it for five years, and CW now sleeps on the top. Apparently, yesterday evening, he decided to bounce on the top bunk on his knees.

The bed collapsed.

CW weighs less than 55 lbs. The bed could have easily collapsed when his friends were up there with him last week. Or worse, when B10 was underneath on his bunk.

I was upset, frustrated, etc. I may have spoken harshly to my younger son about monkeys jumping on beds, but as we tried to move the bunk, I realized that the screw that should have been holding the upper bunk bed support slats in place was driven into B10's pillow.

Right where his head would have been if the bunk had collapsed later that night.

Now, realistically, I know that the screw wouldn't have gone that far into his head, before hitting his (rather hard) skull, but what if it had hit his eye? Or some other part of his body? Not to mention the pressure and force of the bed falling with CW on top.

The Caterpillars are off the bed, until Doc (my Mum's husband) can SERIOUSLY fix it. Like - we'll have to use a saw to take apart this bed if we ever remove it from this bedroom fix it.

But it was one of the scariest moments I can remember, and I thank God that everything worked out and my Caterpillars are safe and sound.

I went to the OB yesterday for Baby Larva and I to have our 24 week appointment. She had been measuring a little small at our 20 week appointment - so they wanted us to get there early enough to have another ultrasound done and check her size.

During the ultrasound, the tech did one of those scary things - where she stopped talking to us (Hubby and I) and started taking lots of pictures. Then said the doctor would talk to us shortly.

At that moment, I felt a bit nervous, but hey - I've had preterm contractions for all three other pregnancies, so figured it had something to do with that.

Yeah, it didn't.

To make a very long story short, the doctor was concerned we were going to have a Thanksgiving Larva, which would be 28 weeks, for those of you counting. WAY to early! She sent me directly to the hospital, to hook me up on all sorts of testing equipment. Um, that's when the fear kicked in.

I've been to the hospital with each of the other pregnancies, but it was always when I was past 30 weeks, and having to many contractions. Never this kind of issue, and never this early.

Hubby stayed with me for quite a while, through the two attempts at starting an IV (yay - pump me full of fluids), the blood draws to run tests, and the hooking up to monitors. Plus the delightful compression leg-thingies that I hated. Then he headed home, while Cookie came up to spend the night.

To add excitement, they decided to run the glucose (gestational diabeties) test while I was in the hospital, which meant drinking nasty sugar soda water and fasting during dinner time until they could draw yet more blood.

Considering I was pumped full of fluids, I managed to get a pretty good night's sleep, as did Mum. She stayed through the morning ultrasound (7:30 a.m.) and through breakfast, before she had to leave for school. Queen had called and asked if I wanted her to come sit for a while with me, and I said "PLEASE".

I'm so glad she was able to come up, as my doctor came in to discharge me shortly thereafter. They feel Baby Larva is going to make it to early January, and so "our" job is to make sure she gains enough weight (and her lungs grow) so she'll be in less danger if she's born at 32-34 weeks. 35 weeks will be considered a huge success. I gained 5 pounds in the last four weeks, and they want me to gain at least 3 before my next appointment on November 19th.

I'm not on bedrest, just on "rest in bed often-rest". I can handle that. Really. I can! :)

I was a bit bummed, because today was suppose to be my last day of work, and I missed it.

But thank God that we made the decision to have me leave work now, as the timing couldn't have been better for Baby Larva's sake or my own.

Sickly Little Caterpillar

B10 hasn't been feeling well since the camping trip.

Oh, he says he is fine - but then either runs a slight fever or vomits.

These are NOT things that indicate he is fine.

However, they don't seem to STOP him from spinning in circles, or generally being a boy.

I stayed home from work on Wednesday to be with him, but his fever left that night, and I have been at work since then. Cookie said she thinks he's just getting dehydrated to often (the Tutor that watches them on Tuesdays/Thursdays took them to the park, and he complained of being thirsty - then got sick again), and I tend to agree. I wish I could be at home to force fluids down his little gullet!

Oh well, I have to work today and tomorrow, then 1/2 a day Wednesday, then 14-15 hours on Thursday - THEN I'M DONE!

Whew!

I received my October paycheck today, and ran some more calculations based on the lower gas prices and the childcare for Baby Larva I had looked in to in my county. After taxes, childcare, and gas - if I continued to work - I would be making a whooping $2.25 per hour.

Seriously, that's just ridiculous. I'm worth so much more than that to my Caterpillars.

Emergency Vets are Not Any Fun!

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

1 comments

CW's cat had to go to the emergency vet early this Sunday morning. They ended up keeping him overnight and would only release him if Cookie took him directly to a regular vet on Monday morning.

So she picked him up early to drive him to our local vet at 7 am Monday, much to CW's dismay. (He wasn't allowed in the Emergency Vet's Office to see his baby, nor could he go with Cookie that early on Monday.)

When Cookie got off work, though, she came by to pick him up and took him to see his precious Solomon. The assistant asked if Solomon was his cat, to which CW replied: "Yes, I am his Owner." (I think Cookie was wondering if that meant he was going to pay the bill...sadly...his money jar can't cover that kind of financial commitment at age 6.)

She did document his trip to visit his baby, you can see his little worried self until he actually held his fuzzy one in his arms.

I left work about 10 minutes early to get to the office and brought Solomon home today. He quickly scurried back to Cookie's bed and curled up there licking his kitty-parts. (Having a catheter is no fun for a cat!)

I love cats, but vets are never any fun!

I want to say thank you to everyone who has commented - and I know there has been at least a couple of "Anonymous" readers out there.

Usually, I just post the comments from everyone, and respond directly to those who have left questions and such - but feel I can't do that when someone doesn't leave a name (even a Pseudonym) or an email address.

"Anonymous" - I would be more than happy to address your concerns and "sadness" over one of my blog posts, but that's hard if you don't let me know who you are - or how I can get in touch with you.

Thanks ever so much...

This Was a Day Off????

Thursday, October 9, 2008

0 comments

At my job, those of us on salary don't get paid overtime when we work 50 hours (or more) in a week - we instead get to "bank" that time. Because of the heavy workload and events we've had lately, I earned two full days off - which I decided to take today and tomorrow.

I thought it would be a nice relaxing day off, and it wasn't at all. I ended up scrubbing bathtubs, organizing baby clothes, and cleaning my kitchen. Thank goodness Cookie helped and we even went out to lunch with the boys. I was feeling really stressed out about the state of my house and needed to get out for a bit!

I've been trying very hard to eat more, to help Baby Larva grow - so Cookie and I drove out to one of our favorite "fast food" places - Fazoli's - and had a delightful Italian lunch.

You can see the boys really enjoyed it also.

On another side note, there are only two sitcoms that I've ever watched with true frequency - "Dharma and Greg" and "The Big Bang Theory". As you've likely seen from previous posts, I'm a huge fan of "Criminal Minds" - in fact, you could say Thomas Gibson is one of my favorite TV actors ever.

This week on "Criminal Minds" there was an awesome reunion between Thomas Gibson and the actor who played his best friend, Pete, on "Dharma and Greg". It was so dang funny! (I mean, not in the show, because that's a pretty serious show...but overall.)

I hope everyone had a productive Thursday!

The past two weeks have been painful at work. Both Edelweiss and I have had the joy of repeatedly working late in preperation for the big black-tie gala.

I haven't felt caught up on email in forever, but at midnight last night - when I finally left the building - I did feel like I had accomplished something pretty huge.

Here are a few lovely photos from Saturday evening.

And on Sunday morning, after 7 hours of sleep, I woke up feeling like I hadn't seen the Caterpillars in forever, so we all rolled out of bed and had a delightful breakfast at IHOP.

It was a good morning, with a weight lifted off of my shoulders!

Search for Home

1 comments

This past Sunday was bittersweet for Hubby and I.

As you can see from previous posts, we had a very enjoyable afternoon with the Caterpillars, but the morning was spent as our last at our church.

The Caterpillars sang in their choir, two beautiful songs, that made me very glad we had chosen to be there that morning.

However, after the service was over, Hubby and I left knowing it was our last Sunday at this church. We will begin next week a search that could take weeks or months. Until we find a new home, the Caterpillars will continue to go with my Mum, Cookie, on Sunday mornings. I don't particularly want to expose them to teaching that I don't have any knowledge about.

And until December, the Caterpillars will continue to go to our old church on Wednesday nights - the Kids Choir will preform a Christmas Musical and they are already practicing. I feel like it's not fair to pull them out right now.

The church we've been attending is a good church. It's teaching is solid and the Senior Pastor manages to actually try and understand modern issues. However, we didn't feel comfortable there for a couple of pretty big personal reasons.

My two biggest regrets are that I'll not be with my Mum. She's one of my closest friends and I love that the Caterpillars get to spend so much time with her. Second, I love serving in the Media Ministry. In 2006 I gave the presentations on the software program that was installed, and since October of that year I have been pretty much the person sitting in the booth running the screens every Sunday morning (and preparing them every week).

But as much as I loved my 2 years in this Ministry, it was at the point where Hubby and I couldn't even worship together. That, coupled with the other personal reasons, have led us to our new church search. I know deep in my heart that there is a good place for Hubby and I, our Caterpillars, and the little Larva.

I am hopeful that we will find this new home quickly.

Poopy Fun

I have had a rather poopy week and one of the (very few) darling people I work with took time out of her day to make me a card.

She's a rather nifty card maker, as she free-handed all this jazz. But the inside comment was hilarious and perfect for my poopy week.

"The Butterfly and flower are made of elephant poop - proving that even the crappiest situations - literally - have some potential for future use. Even if that future use is ammunition to get you through some pretty rough days, anger and frustration are certainly motivating forces."

Elephant poop. Elephant poop butterflies and flowers.

Tee hee hee - now that actually makes me laugh.

Stress

Wednesday, August 27, 2008

3 comments

I think I have heard a million times that stress isn't good for me or the Larva, but sometimes I feel like I am at the end of my rope and don't know what to do.

(No "tie a knot and hang on jokes" please.)

My biggest issue comes when the stress is directly related to people that surround me. How do I make choices between the health of my Larva and myself versus other people's feelings? I just have the deepest desire to curl up in a ball and ignore those people that stress me out.

Unfortunately, that's apparently not acceptable at work. Or at home.

I wish I were a Bear. A huge Mummy Bear. And I could take my cub-Caterpillars and hide in a cave all winter. Then show up next Spring with three cubs, and deal with people then. At the very least, I wish I could surround myself with just the people who are supportive of me and the Larva (and Hubby and the Caterpillars).

This level of stress is just not healthy! Especially not right now.

Where Have I Been?

Tuesday, July 29, 2008

1 comments

Lots of things happened in the last 20 days. We'll pretend it's easier to read in a list form:

1) The Caterpillars spent time in Kentucky with their Dad and just returned home on Saturday. We are now in the "re-adjustment phase" of rentering the real world (ie: Mummy's house).

2) There has been a lot of geocaching going on. See photos here and here.

3) I've been working on walking more. So far I've made it to Stone Mountain 3 times with my friend, Meredith. She's done a nice job of remembering to blog it. See here.

4) sweet! catered a wedding for 200, and it was a lovely use of many (many, many) hours of mine and Edelweiss' time. I want Edelweiss' camera. Why, you ask? These pictures. It was a great feeling to accomplish this event, and Edelweiss was patient with me on my baking and cooking learning curve.

5) Daddy and Minnie Mouse gave BooSheep and I beautiful nail files. The sleeve for the nail files were missing, and I finally found them today - which had the website on the back. I have decided I need more nail files, and they might be my newest "standby gifts" for everyone. Crystal nail files are awesome. Snazzy Creation Crystal Nail Files are my favorites.

6) Sickness hasn't gone away, but at least now I know why. I'm seeing a brand new doctor on Monday. I'll give an update then.

7) I need to do lots of laundry. I hate laundry. Sadly, hating laundry DOES NOT make it go away.

8) I need a vacation.

The Ramblings of an Un-Trained Mind...

I’ve spent more time than I would have liked to this week sitting in doctor’s offices. I’m not a big fan of Doctors, especially when they are running tests and give me vague references to my results, such as “this was really high”, rather than specific and concrete facts.

My workplace changed insurance companies in February of 2007, and since then I’ve only been in to see the Kaiser people twice. I’ve done the military-thing, so I’m quite accustomed to never seeing the same doctor twice, but this week has been ridiculous.

To top it off, I was told to make a follow-up appointment in 10 days, but I had to do that by phone (rather than at the desk while I was standing there). So I’ll be returning (again) on July 7th – and seeing yet another doctor! (What are the chances he’ll have my test results and be willing to actually tell me what they are in plain English? I’m not betting on it.)

I’m trying to motivate myself to show up for work tomorrow. I’m not feeling real well right now, but that could be the entire container of Greek Potatoes that I ate for snack, rather than an actual sickness. I have Friday off to finish packing and getting my car’s oil changed, before we leave on our Family Vacation to Ohio.

We’ll be visiting Granddaddy, Jr and Minnie Mouse for four days of fun and excitement. The Caterpillars are thrilled, because they heard there will likely be a water park trip. (And B10 is dying to go to their local Zoo.) Hubby was able to take off work, which is exciting – I wasn’t looking forward to the drive alone.

Wednesday, on the way home, we’ll stop in Kentucky and drop the Caterpillars off with their Daddy for two and a half weeks.

I will miss them terribly, but my Mum has graciously offered to help me get our Master Bathroom finished while they are gone, and possibly do a substantial amount of work in our Sunroom. (We have a hot tub out there that we haven’t used in the year and a half we’ve owned the house!)

If you’ve not already popped over to see the blogs of one of my dear bloggy-friends, her daughter (another bloggy-friend) just had a beautiful baby girl. Welcome Home, Piper!

I am now off to contemplate work again. After out big event, it’s been slower, however I found a couple of interesting Fundraising/Non-Profit books in an old co-worker’s office, so I think I’m going to peruse those.

Pictures WILL be uploaded to CW’s Baking Post, as soon as Blogger lets me…

Losing My Oasis

The first of our two yearly major fundraisers took place this weekend. It was a good evening, we broke all sorts of records in income, and the event went very smoothly overall.

Edelweiss and I spent all day Saturday working - minus our lunch break (this was the comfortable portion of the day).

The decor was beautiful this year. We were worried about rain, but luck held out and the showers never fell, at least not after the Terrace was set up with the tables and bars.

Hubby, BooSheep, and Hubby Sheep all came to the work party. I enjoy when I can share parts of my work with my family. Plus, it makes the work event more fun!

Of course, by the end of the evening, Edelweiss and I were quickly ripping off our shoes and working barefoot! (Can you see her cute nail polish?)

Overall, I'm glad the event did well and I am GLAD it is OVER!

(What about the Kiddos? Why, the Caterpillars and Little Sheep had their own party at Cookie's House!)

Tag - I'm It!

Wednesday, May 14, 2008

Rules to this game:
1) Link to the person who tagged you. That would be my sister, BooSheep.
~
2) Post the rules in your blog. Volia!
~
3) Write six random things about yourself. To follow.
~
4) Tag six people. I don't know six bloggy people - so I tag no one. Though I would like to see what Edelweiss finds random about herself...
~
5) Let the people know they've been tagged. Edelweiss - you're not tagged, I'm just curious if you can quickly come up with six random things I don't already know.
~
6) Leave a note for the person who tagged you to let them know you've posted. Done.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Random Item #1 – I can only think of two major fears I have off the top of my head: Dentists and driving when it’s storming out. I’ll drive when I have to, but I haven’t seen a Dentist in 15 years. Dentists scare the living bee-jees out of me. If given a choice between childbirth and having my teeth cleaned, I would choose giving birth.
Random Item #2 – I cannot step on painted lines in a parking lot. When I walk, I have to avoid placing any part of my foot on the line – or any paint. I cannot step on Handicapped symbols painted on the ground. I will actually drive further to a certain Home Depot, because it has less spilled paint in the parking lot and it’s easier for me to get from my car to the front door. There is a place I have to go for work, and I get nauseous because the owner has painted his front steps and stoop, and I have to walk up the stairs to get to his office. I can only do this if I make sure that each foot has stepped the same number of times on the paint.
Random Item #3 – If I could pack my family up tomorrow and move anywhere, I would want to live in Argentina or Brazil for a year. I’ve become utterly fascinated by South America, and want to take my caterpillars there to visit. Plus, I hear Argentina is way cheap (after the airfare). Perhaps in 2010 we can at least visit.
Random Item #4 – My favorite color is black. I like wearing black, and I could happily live in a bedroom with black walls and a nice window. With black curtains. I don’t think this is a sign of being depressed, just nocturnal. I’m totally a raccoon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Random Item #5 – If I could be anything when I grow up – I want to be a novelist. Preferably a well-paid, New York Times Bestsellers List Novelist, but I’ll take “published” as a close second. I have all the stories in my head, some of them written down, but I’m convinced that other people will think they are stupid. So I don’t share my personal, original writings with anybody.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Random Item #6 - On Sunday evening when the boys were curled up in bed with me, B10 said he had a secret. When I asked what it was, he said that his hip hurt a little bit, and had been hurting for a couple of weeks, but he didn't want anyone else to know. I've spent the last few days watching him walk, and being scared to death that the nightmare of 2007 is going to begin again - wheelchair and all. He's walking more on his tiptoes, and I'm truly afraid that I'm going to have to call the doctor again on Monday.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Those are my random items. I hope you know just a bit more about me than you did when we started.

I do not like work.

Tuesday, May 6, 2008

3 comments

Note I did not say I do not like to work, I don’t mind working in general.

It the particular work I am currently doing.

There has been a steady decline in the overall job satisfaction here at Lone Butterfly’s cocoon.

(Cocoon Pie, Edelweiss, COCOON PIE!)

I truly thought that my new job responsibilities would mean I was doing something different.

I’m really still doing the exact same thing.

Filling out paperwork and sending emails, then sitting on my butt waiting for someone (ANYONE, please ANYONE) to get back to me.

It’s frustrating, because I don’t enjoy my church home (at all, anymore), so I don’t have that to look forward to on Wednesdays/Sundays.

And my little caterpillars like to talk about how they never get to see me. Ever. It’s a Greek Tragedy to CW when he gets started on how he just wants to be with me. This normally involves tears, and ends with me feeling like such a spectacular Mum.

Sometimes I feel like I’m going crazy, and the rest of the time I know I’m already there.

I want to teach Religion. It’s what I went to school for, and I have never found the right place to teach it. I would love to be able to do the small in-home classes, the ones many homeschooled students take.

I want to travel. I haven’t been to my grandfather’s house in over a year. I haven’t taken the boys anywhere in ages. I would love to pack them into the car and just drive. To Mississippi to see their great-grandfather. To Louisiana to show them my “home”. To Ohio to see their grandfather. To DC to see the capital.

I want to join the Women’s Club in our neighborhood. I want to host a Book Club and Women’s Bible Study.

I want to take my kids to the park and the pool.

Most of all, I want to have the time to write and speak. I have a degree and I never get to use it. My creative outlets have slowly been plugged up, leaving me in a pit of frustration and joylessness.

I know there is a time and a purpose for everything, and that God has His plans for me. I only wish I could figure out what that is.

A Mother’s Greatest Fear –

Sunday, April 20, 2008

2 comments

I lost CW this morning. I picked him up from Sunday School and in my rush to get back upstairs (because I have to be there before the choir comes in), I decided to step into the restroom before sitting him down in our pew.

I handed him his papers (Adam and Eve coloring sheets this week) and put my hands on his shoulders and backed him against the wall. Looking straight into his eyes I said, “don’t move, Mummy will be right back.”

Then I stepped into the restroom. The line was relatively short, considering the size of the church compared to the number of stalls. I washed my hands, and was out within 4 minutes.

CW was gone.

Husband was in the Foyer and my automatic conclusion was that CW had seen him and they were together. But Husband quickly dispelled that thought when he asked me where CW was.

What ensued was 10 minutes of sheer panic.

I cannot adequately describe what it feels like to search every place you can think a child might be and not find the child. He wasn’t in my Mum’s Sunday School classroom (she was sick today, that’s why B10 wasn’t there). He hadn’t gone back to his classroom. He hadn’t wandered into the large lobby. He wasn’t in the Children’s Church room – nor the library – nor mine and Husband’s Sunday School room (where he usually finds breakfast).

My heart stopped at least once.

After he was found (playing in a far away bathroom with another little boy – by that little boy’s mother) and thoroughly chastised, I sat him down in our pew and collapsed into my chair in front of my computers.

The congregation finished singing the third or fourth song before my heart returned to normal.

How could I have so much fear? We weren’t in a grocery store or a Target – and while our church is large, it’s not so large that people don’t know one another. But all my mind could process was that my child was missing.

We’ve had a few issues with CW recently, he just walks away from us in crowded places. Yesterday he almost walked out in front of a car. I worry that part of his processing issues and he can’t hear us when we call him. I know that much of it is just disobedience and him being a child, but I’m not sure what to do to fix it.

He spent this entire afternoon sitting on a bed with no TV or toys as punishment for walking away.

I still have a knot in my stomach when I think about it, while this story ended well – I feel for all the mothers who don’t have a happy ending.

Injuries

Monday, April 14, 2008

3 comments

**WARNING** This post contains a very mild photo of a head injury.

Somehow, in the last twenty-four hours, we've managed to do quite a bit of damage to B10 and myself.

Husband and I have a pretty open policy about digging in the yard - as long as it's not damaging to a tree, then go ahead. The boys are always creating holes and then filling them back in and creating new ones.

As I was walking my bicycle to the road through our yard, the front tire caught one of these holes. The downhill slope ended up causing me and the bike to hit the ground - in that order. Now I have a very lovely bruise that stretches from my upper thigh almost to my knee. Then there are numerous small bruises below my knee to my ankle.
~
The second injury came when B10 and Husband were roughhousing last night, after CW had fallen asleep. I was just drying off after my bath when I heard B10 screaming and Husband saying "It's okay". (B10 was responding - "NO IT'S NOT OKAY!")

I ran into our bedroom to find B10 curled up face down on our bed, with Husband's hand covered in blood over the back of his head.

Apparently, whacking your head really hard against a piece of wood is NOT the greatest idea...

It took over 20 minutes to calm him down and clean the wound. Head wounds bleed like Niagara Falls anyway, and the fact the the child was tired didn't help the situation at all. I'm just glad we didn't have to go to the Emergency Room for stitches, which is what I was initally afraid of!

I hope everyone else is having an injury-free week! I'm off to see if B10 can make it to swim lessons (he was a bit apprehensive about getting chlorine in his hair).
