One is Lonely?

Tomorrow CW leaves for his camping weekend with Hubby, and B10 stays to have a special date night with me. Mum and Doc gladly agreed to watch B10 while I'm at work on Saturday - but then realized they were going to a special "fair" for our Electric/Gas Company.

Rather than pick up B10 REALLY early tomorrow, he's spending the night with them (and snuggling with his cat, who lives at their house). This meant that CW got a night alone with Hubby and I, as if he were an only child.

We started the evening by taking him on a walk around the neighborhood. He chose the Japanese Steakhouse for Dinner - to celebrate Hubby's accomplishment (HUBBY PASSED HIS THIRD CPA EXAM). He was very polite and tried three new foods (tuna sushi, fried rice, and green onions in the soup - he loved the fried rice and green onions).

He sat quietly between Hubby and I and colored and the lovely ladies at one end of the table talked about how sweet and smart he was.

I sat at the other end of the table with the stripper/escort and her date. No, I am not kidding. I now know much more about the world of 40+ year old Strippers than I ever needed to know.

When we got home, CW wanted to play outside for a few minutes, before his bath. After his bath he was freezing and sat on the floor in our bedroom to get warm with my little heater (ie: hairdryer). I had brought home an old, broken pineapple walkie-talkie. CW and I took it apart with my tiny screwdriver and learned about the circuit board and why the antena was a long coiled wire, rather than a shorter, straight wire. I let him put the walkie-talkie in a ziploc bag and stick it in his invention box to explore later.

Then he wanted to curl up on our bed and watch "How It's Made" (a Canadian show, that has a rather bland host, but is fascinating when it goes into random factories).

We learned all about Hockey Goalie pads, trucks, crystal glasses (which are crazy intricate - and I can see why it's so expensive!), boxes, bandaids, and an assortment of other items. I think his favorite part was not having to fight anyone else for a spot on our bed to watch TV.

Overall, it was a great night. He loved having two parents focused on him! (Though you can only see one, because Mummy is always holding the camera!) ;)

Great family moments!!!

I understand the camera thing - - - that's why Papoo gets all the blog time and Kamma rarely does at my place!!!

I can't wait to hear about your date with B10! And what a special evening for CW. I hope both boys (and mom and dad) have a fun weekend!
