Hubby had a Team in Training Dinner tonight, so GO and I went to hang out with Mere and C's new little girl, NC, who was referred to as "Sprout" before we knew she was a girl.  C and Hubby carpooled, while we waited at their house.

I was lucky enough to get to be at the hospital when NC was born last Friday.  It was an incredible experience and one I will always remember.  I'm also lucky enough to get to be where NC will stay when Mere has to go back to work.  We sat on the new sofa to take pictures, so GO had to check out the sofa first!

NC is absolutely beautiful!  She is doing so well and is very healthy, plus - I love it when babies open their eyes for you!

GO was a bit confused as to why her Auntie Mere wasn't holding HER -

- but soon warmed up to the newest little person.  GO didn't even complain when I had to hold NC so Mere could have her hands free.

It was so cool to see the two of them together.  We are blessed to have these friends in our lives.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame!

This is the opening weekend for the Gwinnett Braves, the Atlanta Braves AAA Team (formerly the Richmond Braves). Our friends, Mere and C, invited us to tailgate with them before the Saturday Night game.

We arrived at the park early (4 p.m. for a 7:05 p.m. first pitch) and parked our cars near the back grassy area.

The Caterpillars had a blast rolling down the hill and playing "spy"!

C grilled hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken for sandwiches - all were delicious.

GO sat with Cookie and Hubby, she seemed to like the outdoors. The weather was perfect, not to cold, but not hot either.

Inside the Gwinnett Braves Stadium they had all sorts of new and funny things. Chick-Fil-A is a major sponsor and this is my favorite part of their sponsorship:

We lost the game, but the Caterpillars actually made it all the way to the end of the game (it's the first time we've seen all 9 innings with them sitting in their seats).
Cookie brought playdough to keep the Caterpillars entertained - CW made little baseball players!
It's going to be great having a minor league team so close to us AND they serve fried dill pickles inside the Stadium! (How awesome is that?)

This morning, CW woke up early in order to play more Wii (ALL BY HIMSELF) - he's getting very good at the new cooking game.

CW asked that GO wear the outfit he picked out for her at the store yesterday.

We got dressed and headed out to our friends Mere and C's house. CW wanted to eat lunch at Chic-fil-a with them, and they were free so they gladly agreed.

(I did have a minor scare, when I was in the house latching GO in her carseat and CW let out a blood-curdling scream from the driveway. He fell on his wrist and I was scared we were going to have to take a detour to the ER, but it never became swollen or bruised.)

We all came home and took naps (YAY! - THANK YOU, C!), before CW requested that I call Cookie and Doc and invite them to eat dinner at our favorite Chinese Restaurant.

After dinner, Doc took CW to the ice cream shop for a HUGE bowl of chocolate ice cream. He ended his second day of his special weekend curled up on the sofa again, to sleep with GO and I.

Mere and C brought over dinner tonight: TACOS! We ate a wonderful meal (discussed the Braves a bit) before moving into the den to play a bit of Wii.

Mere and C have a Wii, but hadn't seen the WiiFit or any of the Lego games. Hubby introduced C to Lego Indian Jones - and we all had a blast watching.

GO slept in my arms, the Caterpillars went to be without complaining and it was a perfect night with friends.

Busy Saturday

Today was very busy. We woke up very early to drive the boy Caterpillars out to a Loop-A-Rama for Cub Scouts.

B10 and CW helped me dress GO, before Cookie came to pick us up.

After coming home to Cookie's for lunch and a brief rest, my friend Mere (and her hubby C) called and asked if we wanted to meet them for a cookout dinner at a local park.

C did an awesome job grilling steaks, while the Caterpillars again proved that sticks and a little room to run is more than enough for boys to have fun.

CW even helped C grill steaks (and hot dogs).

We didn't leave until the sun went down. B10 and CW played with their glow sticks the entire way home (thanks, Cookie!).

I know I said it yesterday with Edelweiss and the playground - but I am SO glad the weather is getting warmer so we can spend time with our friends outside!
